Below is the After Picture
As you can see there has been quite a transformation. When we bought this house, wallpaper was alive and well! It was everywhere! Borders on every room pasted up with the best glue I have ever seen in my life. LOL. We like to have never removed it. In this bedroom was also a faux wall finish, but that was not hard to cover up. Also in this room was a desk that I have toted around in all the places we have lived and had never painted it (its even hard for me to believe). It finally had a facelift. It was really cheap made, but a friend gave it to me so anyway first was a good primer then just a white durable paint. I antiqued it afterward and now I am Happy with it. Everything else in this room was a bargain! I did some trading with a friend of mine for the daybed, the white chairs came from goodwill (free, because I know someone there) The comforter set was a bargain from a local store. It had an extra quilt with it and that is what is behind the old window (can't see it in this picture). That first cut on it was a little hard, but I figured what the heck! I need that! The shutters were just painted and antiqued, this is where I keep my cards. The drapes were all of 99 cents at a store that was closing them out! I was able to purchase enough for my master bedroom and the den. I hope you enjoy the before and after! It doesn't have to cost a lot of money to make a home comfortable and pleasant for you and your family. I actually love this kind of decorating! Taking something that is ugly and making it functional and pretty also keeps it off the curb heading for the trash. Have a wonderful day. I am linking up with Metamorphosis Monday over at "Between Naps on the Front Porch", be sure and check out this very inspiring blog.
