I found this at a local thrift store for 5.00. It had a adobe scene with cactus on the front, but I thought I could "fix" that. So I took my snippers and cut away all the raised places and then sanded it smooth. I had forgot to take pictures so this is the process of painting the back side.

I used torn and crumbled pieces of white tissue paper and black acrylic paint to put it on with.

Here is the piece completely covered with tissue paper.

I used silver metallic first, then dry brushed the aqua color. The gold was put on last and wiped off.

Here is the piece minus the gold.

Here is the completed piece. I brushed the gold paint on and then just wiped it off. I am really pleased with it and now I will have to decide what flowers to use. I will post pictures later for that. I am participating in Metamorphosis Monday over at Between naps on the Porch! Check it out!

Love this! I use the tissue paper technique alot, and your vase redo is further proof at how effective it is. You really maximized the potential in that vase, it is gorgeous.
