Love Those Birdnests!

I do just love those birds nests. Seems like I am seeing them everywhere! So for my project for today, since it is a little cool outside was to make something for a table in my family room. I first started with some old books I had taken the backs off and then antiqued the pages, (an idea from Pottery Barn)  of course I did have to add a little gold (they didn't) . Next I had some burlap material that I just cut into strips to hold it together and make a bow. The birds nest was fun,  the nest itself was 25 cents at goodwill and the rest I had in my shop. I just glued the feathers and eggs inside and added the small branches and the berries. And it was finished, took no time at all. My den did  not have the light I needed for good pictures so I took these in the sun porch.
Thank you for stopping by and for your sweet comments.
I am linking up with Wassup Wednesdays with Kara over at Elements Interiors. Be sure and check all these talented ladies!

Birds Nest Branch!

This was such a fun and easy project that I just had to share it with you. I didn't take the time to do step by step pictures, I was in a rush to get several finished. So I will try to walk you through this! A little pun intended, because the first thing was walking around our yard to find the perfect branch. I already had what looked like a small picket fence that I have used on my wreaths before. It didn't take but probably about 8 inches and I just wound it around so the birds nest would sit in the middle. The nest was bought at goodwill for .25, I just .added moss to it and glued it in place. The floral stem was one piece I bought at Hobby Lobby half price at 3.99. It was also glued in place. The berry stem was glued and free from another project. The little mushroom birds were
glued (I love that glue gun) and moss was placed around to fill in and cover up glue. I always spray a finish on my florals! They will last until you get tired of them. A blower dryer on low setting will blow the dust right off. Again I apologize for not taking pictures, I will try to get better at that. I am so blessed and so thankful to be creative. I pray your week will be productive and peaceful. Please check out Metamorphosis Monday over at Between Naps on the Porch. The Link is below. Everyone is so creative!

Birds Nests and Old Windows!

I am participating in Metamorphosis Monday over at "Between Naps on the Porch". Check them out, you will find some very talented ladies.

I just love birds nest, there are so many ways to decorate with them. This is made from a picture frame with batting and fabric stretched on cardboard. The nest and branch were just simply glued on again with the hot glue. It is hanging in my sun room where I can see it through the patio doors. It was very easy to make, probably cost about 5.00 because I already had some of the materials.

A friend of mine gave me this old window. I was sooo excited and thankful that she gave it to me. When I bought this comforter set, it had an extra quilt with it. I knew exactly what I would do with it! After some measuring and running out of staples, I finished up with hot glue. Oh my what would I do with out glue and duct tape. LOL. The hanging was easy, I used heavy duty hooks on the back so it will not fall down. This room is called the Garden Room, it is so different than the rest of my house (that day bed really became a problem to me). It was either change it out or somehow use it. The shutter that you see came from our shed where hubby keeps our lawn mower. No telling what else is in there. I use it to keep cards in it. It is so easy just to run in there and pick one out than dig for one in my desk. As you can tell I love to take things that would other wise wind up in the trash, and make something useful and hopefully beautiful to. Thank you for visiting, have a wonderful week.

Diningroom Tablescape!

I am participating in Metamorphis Monday over at "Between Naps on the Frontporch", be sure and check out all these talented ladies!!!!

I have fallen in loooove with birds nest and eggs. The plastic eggs are spray painted in a plastic container with a gray primer. Then painted blue using a brush. I flyspecked them and that was it. I will post instructions when I fix more. On these I didn't take pictures. The flower arrangement was made with a $7.00 bunch from A to Z warehouse in Alma Arkansas. It is a great place to shop for home decor. The candle holders and candles are from a thrift shop that I visit frequently. The rooster has been moved all around my house and the tablecloth has a candle stain on it that when fixed in this way, no one can see it. Using what we already have and just moving it around will give a total different look and make you think it is "new". The bell jar was a 2.50 find, I also love those things. I hope you enjoyed the photos, I will try to get better about before and after. Have a Wonderful Day!
