I don't know why I am thinking "fall" when it is clearly still summer. Hot, hot, hot is what we are experiencing here in Southwest Missouri. Maybe wishful thinking! I told myself I would not complain this summer because I really thought I would freeze to death last winter (maybe a little exaggeration going on) BUT, I am tired of this heat. Mostly for the fact it is so hard on people and animals! Anyway I had a wreath on my front door that was looking a little tired, so instead of making another one for summer, I decided to fix one for fall. It really will be here before you know it. ON a serious note, I really try not to complain about anything. God is so good to us and there are so many things to be thankful for. Being negative is like a disease that spreads and gives people hopelessness. I hope your week is going well, be careful and use something that would go in the trash and make it beautiful!

Birds Nests and Old Windows!

I am participating in Metamorphosis Monday over at "Between Naps on the Porch". Check them out, you will find some very talented ladies.
I just love birds nest, there are so many ways to decorate with them. This is made from a picture frame with batting and fabric stretched on cardboard. The nest and branch were just simply glued on again with the hot glue. It is hanging in my sun room where I can see it through the patio doors. It was very easy to make, probably cost about 5.00 because I already had some of the materials.
A friend of mine gave me this old window. I was sooo excited and thankful that she gave it to me. When I bought this comforter set, it had an extra quilt with it. I knew exactly what I would do with it! After some measuring and running out of staples, I finished up with hot glue. Oh my what would I do with out glue and duct tape. LOL. The hanging was easy, I used heavy duty hooks on the back so it will not fall down. This room is called the Garden Room, it is so different than the rest of my house (that day bed really became a problem to me). It was either change it out or somehow use it. The shutter that you see came from our shed where hubby keeps our lawn mower. No telling what else is in there. I use it to keep cards in it. It is so easy just to run in there and pick one out than dig for one in my desk. As you can tell I love to take things that would other wise wind up in the trash, and make something useful and hopefully beautiful to. Thank you for visiting, have a wonderful week.

Diningroom Tablescape!

I am participating in Metamorphis Monday over at "Between Naps on the Frontporch", be sure and check out all these talented ladies!!!!
I have fallen in loooove with birds nest and eggs. The plastic eggs are spray painted in a plastic container with a gray primer. Then painted blue using a brush. I flyspecked them and that was it. I will post instructions when I fix more. On these I didn't take pictures. The flower arrangement was made with a $7.00 bunch from A to Z warehouse in Alma Arkansas. It is a great place to shop for home decor. The candle holders and candles are from a thrift shop that I visit frequently. The rooster has been moved all around my house and the tablecloth has a candle stain on it that when fixed in this way, no one can see it. Using what we already have and just moving it around will give a total different look and make you think it is "new". The bell jar was a 2.50 find, I also love those things. I hope you enjoyed the photos, I will try to get better about before and after. Have a Wonderful Day!

Paint Redo
In case you haven't figured out yet, I love to paint! Walls, furniture whatever! Here is a little table that I just finished, it had been green (I can't remember why I painted it that color), but now it is black. Love it!
The first picture is the sideboard that I had painted a few years ago. The top was kind of scratched up, so I did the crackle finish on it. It is good for a few more years.

Floral Arrangement!
2 new floral arrangements, one for the mantel and one for the bedroom. Floral design is truly a passion of mine that I have enjoyed for many years. Home decoration is another passion that I enjoy. I believe friends and family are comfortable when they come to visit if our homes are clean and pretty!

The Painted Fern!
This is my shop, The Painted Fern, where I do my floral arrangements. When we bought this house at the end of a stand alone garage, a little shop made out of logs was built. I just love it! Hubby put an air conditioner for me and of course in the colder months I have a heater. Right now I have way to many flowers (I buy them at yard sales and goodwill stores) so I will soon be making all kinds of arrangements. Isn't it wonderful to be able to have hobby's? I will put pictures of the inside later. Have a great day and be creative!
